Subject: An Open Report Hillsborough County Diversity Advisory Council Meeting
To: siegels1 [siegels1@mindspring.com]On May 4, 2016, I would attend the Hillsborough County Diversity Advisory Council Meeting alongside Ms. Lunelle McCallister, Ms. Jenna Bernstein and Kevin Wright, whose War Between the States
Design is at the center of a lawsuit concerning Veterans Memorial Park and the Hillsborough Board of County Commissioners.Mrs. McCallister would chide the Council members for not having any of their members present at the April 30, 2016, Confederate Memorial Day Ceremony and Memorial dedication for African Southern
American Confederate Veterans. (see Hillsborough County Diversity Council Minutes of April 6, 2016)Mrs. McCallister would go on to tell them that since they had not attended the event that on this evening she had brought the Keynote Speaker (HK Edgerton) to address them. And address I did –
clearly pointing out to them the New Business item: “Group 1- Building Awareness Among Different Groups, and the hypocrisy they tended if they did not reach out to the Sons and Daughters of the
Confederacy.Mr. Kevin Wright would address the Council over the design in the War Between the States area reserved in the Master Plan for the future monument in Veterans Memorial Park.
Mr. Knight expressed his concern that someone on the County Commissioners had wrongly equated the Maltese Cross with a depiction of the Ku Klux Klan, clearly pointing out that they had made a grave
and serious exercise of judgement. One of the Council members would express his utter surprise and dismay because he had been to the Park, viewed the posted design and concluded his support of the beautiful design, and was throughly
caught off guard about the revelation now being expressed by Mr. Wright. The Maltese Cross is used throughout the Fire Service in the United States as a symbol of Honor, Courage and Dedication. And had they researched The Order of St. John, The Eight Beautitudes,
Matthew 5:3-10 (The Sermon on the Mount, Gerad Thom, Founder of Jerusalem, the Island of Malta), they would have never made this grave conclusion. However, this does not surprise me. The attacks on the Christian Cross of St. Andrew by the NAACP and the likes of the Southern Poverty Law Center that has helped spur the hysteria against all
things Southern by unknowing politicians and poverty pimps whose only concern is the enrichment of the coffers that pay for their lavishing life styles and that of the organizations that fuel their
hate at the expense of the public they serve. We were estastic over the invitation by the members of a community organization committee (Positive Image Committee), who would reach out to the Sons and Daughters of the Confederacy with an
invitation to attend a community event they were sponsoring either as vendors, or just plain enjoying themselves: “Historic Ybor City’s Unity In The Community Event”; Date: Sunday, June 12th –
Time: 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Place: Centennial Park, 1800 E. 8th Ave. Tampa, Florida.HK Edgerton
