I would like to thank Mr. Edgerton and the Florida SSH for the editorial in today’s Tallahassee Democrat: The Confederate flag isn’t the problem in the South

It saddens me at the ignorance and close-mindedness of those ‘loud-mouths’ that are screaming to take away and suppress our history. Like most societies, I am not proud
of ALL of our history, but find it important to keep it around as a reminder of what ‘not to repeat’ and as an opening for discussion with our children about such symbols
and the history of them … the good and the bad. It is the only way we can learn and become better.

In reading through the SSH FL website, I am happy there is a group in place to ‘counterpunch’ the ‘erase-ists’. Thank you.
