Reuben Perdue – 10/22/2009 Message
Subject: interview request
Thank you for the quick addition. I just sent the following email to https://southernheritage411.com….
My name is Reuben Perdue, I host a daily talkshow on 103.3 WAJR-FM in Clarksburg, West Virginia. The last two days I’ve spent discussing the upcoming sesquicentennial of the Civil War and why so few states, let alone the House of Representatives and the Senate, have failed to establish commissions to fully commemorate such an important part of our country’s history.
On yesterday’s show, my guest was author David H. Jones – author of “Two Brothers: One North, One South.” After our discussion, I recieved email telling me to watch a clip on youtube. The link provided was of HK Edgerton’s “I Am Thier Flag” speech. I was in awe. I would like to request a phone interview with Mr. Edgerton to talk about the sesquicentennial and the aspects of the war which are not taught….that the war was about so much more than slavery….and that blacks DID fight for the South out of pride – not just force.
My show is broadcast each morning from 9-10am Eastern. It can also be heard online at http://www.wajr.com …click “listen live Clarksburg.” It was named the 2009 Best Large Market Talk Show by the West Virginia Broadcasters Assocation.
Thank you for considering my request.
