Subject: Watauga Historical Association
Brother H.K. Our organization is the Watauga Historical Association. I am also an SCV member of Camp 1817 in Blountville, TN. The W.H.A. is doing Civil War Sesquicentennial programs and was wondering if you could drive across the mountain from Asheville to Johnson City, TN and do a program for us. We meet the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM at Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site in Johnson City. How much will you charge, for we can’t let you do it for free….too far to drive. We have had two speakers from S.C.V. already this year. Have invited Sons of Union Veterans in order to be fair, but have not heard from them. Maybe they have finally seen the light.
