Subject: Confederate Generals

Dear Mr. Edgerton,

Hello to you. My name is Connery Carson. I am an artist from Pensacola, Florida and have been following you online for the past couple of months. I wanted to write to you and thank you for all of your patriotism and work that you’ve done in bringing awareness to the true history of The Confederacy, the Civil War and thus, for me, what it means to be a proud Southern. I first became aware of you from a video I saw on Youtube from your march between Texas and North Carolina. Since then, I have visited your website several times, watched videos from your many interviews and found a wealth of information on your website for my own personal studies about the War Between the States. For all of your work, I thank you.

As I said, I am an artist and have recently become inspired to create a series of portraits of our most beloved and all-too-forgotten Confederate Generals. I am endeavoring to produce a series of drawings of 25-50 of these men re-created from old photographs using my medium of drawing pencil. My intention is to add to this large body of work some personal history about each man and in so doing, create a kind of art and history show that could, perhaps be featured throughout some of the Southeast’s fine art galleries. I hope to bring a little bit of awareness and history to the public concerning our forgotten Confederate Fighters. My creating process is long and detailed and after one month of work I have completed three different portraits of these fine men. All during the creative process, your name came to mind and I thought you might enjoy seeing a sample of my idea thus far. I hope you enjoy them.

(I will send the three images through three separate message due to the large file size)

Once again, I want to thank you for your dedication and work and I look forward to seeing your continued success.

Connery S. Carson
