Disqualification Of Public Office Under North Carolina Law / An Open Request To All Investigative News Media
An atheist is defined as one who denies the existence of God. Under Section 8: Disqualifications for Office of the North Carolina State Constitution; The following persons shall be disqualified for Office: First any person who shall deny the being of the Almighty God.
The City of Asheville, North Carolina in it’s General election just elected one such person who is about to take a seat on it’s City Council. It is my assumption that the governing laws of this State Constitution based on the aforementioned forbid this.
It is my intention to seek injunctive relief from the Office of the Buncombe County District Attorney, City of Asheville Attorney Office, or whatever agency deemed to have judicial review in said matter.
