Subject: An Open Report & Open Letter / Ocala, Gainesville, Lake City
To: siegels1 [siegels1@mindspring.com]Dear Ms. Lunelle,
Ms. Jenna and I would arrive at the Veterans Memorial Park in Ocala, Florida on Friday, May 5, and be greeted by a contingent of United Daughters of the Confederacy ladies from various Chapters
from across the state, and a fine gentleman, Bob, who had ancestors that fought for both the Union and Confederate Armies. After an introduction of the Museum Curator and many photo ops, we would march across the street to the beautiful memorial site and Confederate Soldiers monument, where I would receive a lesson in
the history of those memorialized. For the life of me, I just could not believe that anyone would want to desecrate this memorial by removing the flags of the Confederacy. The same had happened to
the Honorable General Robert E. Lee at Washington & Lee College in Lexington, the desecration of his Memorial. Some more sacrilege.Icing would be put on the cake as you; House of Representatives member, Senator Baxley; the UDC President, the Honorable Ms. Judy Belk and myself would have lunch and discuss many, many issues of
the movement shuttled in by Lindsay Graham and Nikki Haley that looked no different than the reconstruction exercises of 1865. I would tell Mr. Baxley that I would ask all my Florida friends to vote
for him as he made his bid to become a Senator.Ms. Jenna and I would make our way on to Gainesville for a planned rally and speech to the public by our host, Ms. Mary Barlow, at the Gainesville Library. Channel 20 WLOS News Reporter would
spend almost two hours interviewing me at the Confederate soldiers monument erected by the Kirby Smith UDC Chapter in 1904.On Saturday, May 6, 2016, Ms. Jenna and I would make our way to the Confederate soldiers monument in downtown Lake City, Florida, where we would greet young Jacob Hauge, his mother and a Black
businessman, Mr. Ellison Wright, who was a history buff, and his daughter. A black Yankee would impolitely interrupt the conversation that Mr. Wright and I had been enjoying for almost 30 minutes as
I almost completely forgot that I should ready myself for the march to Village Park.He demanded that I pose for a picture so that he could send it back to his boys in the hood in New York. I wasted no time telling him about his impolite self and that he was late with his hood
presentation of me and that he needed to send his self back to the hood. Ms. Jenna would echo my statement with another explicative to boot as he moved away.We would march to Village Park, greet all those who had gathered, and I would give one of my stump speeches about the Honorable Southerners who had made a Stand against those who Lincoln had
illegally sent to invade our homeland, and the new age of reconstruction that Graham and Haley had now ushered in against our homeland to help those who hated all things Southern and their renewed
attempt of social and cultural genocide using the Black community as their weapon of choice and White folk guilt to aid them.Mr. Wright would not only give the prayer for us to eat later on, but also a message that would mirror my own. The local newspaper would send a nice young lady to interview several folks. I hope she
does justice to my Southern family. God bless you.Your brother,
HK
