Munn Park & Temple Terrace
Dear Ms. Lunelle,
On the morning of February 9, 2019, as I readied myself to head to the beautiful city of Lakeland, Florida, which has become the Den of the Anti- Christ where his agent, Don Selvege, serves on the city commission, smiling and grinning, all the while doing his evil bidding against the memories of our fallen heroes of the state of Florida in the War for Southern Independence.
I have journeyed to Munn Park where the Cenotaph to the Confederate Dead stands on at least four different occasions, don in their uniform and carrying their colors. And, on each occasion, as I entered the gated entrance, I would be privy to a rousing round of applause and cheers by all present. And, on this day, it would be the same.
Armed with the knowledge that the White man of the South, and his band of Africans, had been destined by the Almighty God to finance into being a great and successful Republic on the premise that it would be a Christian nation with religious freedoms for those headed to the kingdom that Jesus Christ had described, I made my way to the Cenotaph to pray.
Proud I was of you and all who would join me with signs that read… “Save Their Honor!” And more so of the many folks who thanked us for being there and standing against the decision of the city commission to remove the Memorial, which included the great great granddaughter of Dr. Jackson, the first black surgeon and first Black Mayor of Lakeland. She expressed that she felt that a monument of her grandpa should also be in the park.
And not to forget the great grandson of Henry Seels who, too, was a man of fame, and the many others who didn’t even know the city commission had voted to move the Cenotaph, and expressed total outrage at that decision.
Mr. McCallister and I would return on Sunday morning, and join the Hillsborough County Flaggers (Polk Chapter) to continue our exercise of dissent, explaining to those gathered who asked if the people of the city had been polled? Mr. McCallister explained that there had been several polls conducted that clearly showed the citizens were in majority opposed to the removal of the Cenotaph, but that this commission didn’t care about the will of the people. He would tell them to continue calling the elected officials and ask them not to remove the Cenotaph.
On Monday morning, February 11, 2019, I would don the uniform of the Southern soldier and post his colors at the door of Temple Terrace Country Club, where the United Daughters of the Confederacy had been defamed after they held a banquet there.
On Tuesday morning, February 12, 2019, once again I would don the Southern soldiers uniform and post his colors outside the Temple Terrace Police and City Hall building in celebration of not only Black History Month, but also because the city leaders of Temple Terrace were deemed complicit in the defamation of the Daughters.
However, I have nothing but praise for the Temple Terrace Police Department, who would show me an unprecedented amount of love and respect for my stand. They provided me with drink and promise of protection. And I thank Chief Kenneth R. Albano, Detective T. Elmer and all his men and women for carrying out that charge. I felt like a newborn baby in the arms of his mother all the while of my stay.
And not to forget the Honorable Michael Moore, a Black man who expressed his understanding and appreciation of my stand. And the young man from Columbia and his Russian wife who, too, had an appreciation for history and could not condone the tearing down of the Confederate Cenotaphs in the Southland of America. On this day I would take a lot of pictures and gather in a lot of love from so many. God bless you!
