Dear Ms. Lunelle,
On Saturday evening, April 27, 2019, alongside Commander Gary Johnson of the General Isham W. Garrot Camp of the Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp #764, we would make our way to Winfield, Alabama, to the re-chartering of a Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp, and the installation ceremony of officers of the Order of the Confederate Rose.
I would be asked by the President of the Rose to say a few words. I would tell those gathered that I felt a great sense of pride in their Governor, the Honorable Kay Ivey, for her courageous stand to protect the Confederate soldier Cenotaphs on the State House grounds in Montgomery.
I would tell them that in the State of North Carolina from which I hailed that a Yankee born Governor had signed the Veterans Monument Protection Bill, but that our Southern born Governor is leading the charge to have all Confederate Cenotaphs removed from the Capitol grounds. And to make matters worse, he has turned a blind eye as the carnage heaped against these Cenotaphs continues to be ramped up as the law is broken with no enforcement or consequence.
A monument pulled down on the courthouse grounds in Durham, North Carolina, resulting in no punishment to the perpetrator. The Confederate soldiers Cenotaph pulled down at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, spit upon, kicked by not only domestic terrorists, but also by members of the University staff, ordered by the Historic Commission to put the Cenotaph back in 90 days. Yet as the appointed time drew towards an end, the Chancellor would have the base of Silent Sam removed, resign from her post, and draw a hefty compensation package as she defied the law.
The local District Attorney, nor the State Attorney General, would act in accordance to the law they were sworn to uphold. In my home state, there is no equal protection of the law, or rule of law as it relates to the American Veteran, “the Confederate soldier,” or any memorials to him.
Akin to Charlottesville, Virginia, I would tell them where a group of God fearing decent citizens would obtain a legal permit to gather and protest the removal of a Cenotaph of the Christ like figure in the South, of the Honorable General Robert E. Lee. This permit came with it, the protection by the law enforcement of the municipality from which the permit was issued.
I told those gathered as I would the following day in the city cemetery in Marion, Alabama, as I delivered the keynote speech for Confederate Memorial Day, that I knew most of those decent people and their children, who because they were white, were deemed by the media in their totality as white Nationalist, white Supremacist, Neo Nazi, and Ku Klux Klan members.
One newspaper man in Oxford, Mississippi, had remarked to me that if these people were so decent, why didn’t they ask the Klan, or any other subversives, to leave their ranks. I told him that just as the scalawag Mayor of New Orleans had done, the Mayor of Charlottesville would as well tell his law enforcement to stand down as ANTIFA, Black Lives Matter and the many other domestic terror thugs gathered up by George Soros, armed with baseball bats draped in barb wire, and urine bombs, and other terror devices, attacked them.
History had come full circle again; the people like in New Orleans, and like when Lincoln sent his troops against the defenseless old men, women and children with his total warfare policy, had no other to reach out to for their protection. And they all mourned the loss of the young lady who lost her life as carnage was upon them. Mark Levin of Fox News said that I was out of my mind for asking President Trump to pardon the young man who was scared out of his mind, and caused the death of this poor young woman.
And, in a related matter, I continue to pray for the people in Pittsboro, North Carolina, who will gather on May 6, 2019, to discuss the removal of a Confederate Cenotaph. There is no home rule law, and the matter should be already settled by the same law that applies to Silent Sam; it cannot be removed. God bless you!
