2020 National Sons of Confederate Veterans Re-Union

Dear Ms. Lunelle,

It is deeply troubling that those responsible for the national reunion of the Sons of Confederate Veterans would decide to break a holy tradition of providing accommodations for the Order of the Confederate Rose at the reunion to be held in the state of Florida in 2020.

I can’t even begin to describe the unparalleled support that these ladies have provided in support of the Sons nation-wide. As an Honorary Life Member of the Rose in the great states of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia, I personally take great offense to this asinine decision, and I know that to say so will bring trouble to my front door. And, I accept whatever that trouble might be for I have a great love for these ladies as I do for the United Daughters of the Confederacy.

There has been a Heritage medal in my mom’s name given by the North Carolina Order of the Confederate Rose, and I would fight for these ladies with every breath of my being in any state in which they present their charge.

To make a decision like this is as bad as the affront that the enemies of the South now bring against the Ladies Memorial Associations that built the Cenotaphs to our fallen heroes. It should be rescinded, and the person or persons who made it should deeply consider stepping down from any responsibility they have been assigned.

And, if it is about funds, I will make this 71 year old body readied for a fund raising march across those parts of Florida that I have not marched before. God bless the ladies of the Orders of the Rose and Black Rose who provide an invaluable service to the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Your brother,

HK
