An Open Letter & Open Report
July 11, 2019
Dear Ms. Lunelle,
As I began to furl my flag this afternoon, a well dressed white man would approach me. “Mr. Edgerton, you have done an admirable job for the South, but you have no idea what you are up against. I read your Open Letters and Open Reports to Ms. Lunelle. Fascinating! However, what you don’t understand, and those who you work with, is that there is only two things that can stop the cultural genocide that is taking place in the South.” “Please tell me,” I would reply.
“The Southern people all across the South would have to put on a display of love for their heritage like none seen since the War Between the States began. And, I don’t think they love it that much anymore, or as much as they love their cars and boats. However, there is one man who could stop all of this, but you, sir, can’t get his ear because you have trashed him too many times. There is only one man who could solicit his help and get him to act, and that man is Senator Arthur Ravenel.”
“Who is the man you speak of,” I would ask? “Senator Lindsay Graham,” came his reply. “He could work the miracle you seek. Return the flag to the soldier’s monument in the honor it so deserves, and that of the men and women who served under it.”
“Senator Graham,” I said somewhat bewildered? “Yes sir, Senator Lindsay Graham! Bless you, Mr. Edgerton.” He would wave and walked away. In all my days, I would never have expected this. I am lost for words. God bless you!
