A program on Confederate leader James Longstreet will be held on June 2 in the fellowship hall at East Newnan Baptist Church.

Coweta Guards Camp 715, Sons of Confederate Veterans, will be meeting at East Newnan. U. S. Army Ltc. Harold Knudsen will be speaking. Knudsen has written a book, "Lieutenant General James Longstreet, The Confederacy’s Most Modern General."

This book aims to look at Longstreet with 21st century objectivity, comparing similarities between Longstreet’s innovations and operations to certain aspects of war that became standard in World War I and World War II.

Mike Webb, commander of the SCV camp, said the meeting will start at 7 p.m.
