ALLEGANY COUNTY, MD – A Cumberland man is planning a federal lawsuit against the Allegany County Board of Education.

Ed Taylor says the Cumberland Historic Cemetery Organization paid to produce brochures about the history of the Confederate Flag after being told they would be distributed in schools.

However, Taylor claims former superintendent, Dr. William Aumiller then changed his mind.

District officials say an emblem of a cemetery cross wasn’t on the original copies.

Dr. Aumiller retired last month.

Ed Taylor is planning to appeal the Allegany County Board of Education’s decision at the state level.
