Government Propagandist/Lincoln Cultist Stoops to New Low

Just when you thought the Lincoln cultists couldn’t get any wackier, along comes State Department bureaucrat Burrus M. Carhanan with a book entitled “Lincoln on Trial: Southern Civilians and the Law of War.”  The “Product Description,” which is typically written by the author and publisher, says the book describes Lincoln’s policies of “bombardment of cities, collateral damage to [a.k.a., murder of] civilians, seizure and destruction of property, forced relocation, and the slaughter of hostages.”  All of this was done by a president who took an oath to defend the constitutional liberties of the people whom he bombarded, murdered, plundered, relocated, and slaughtered.

To normal human beings, these acts would sound like barbaric war crimes.  But to Lincoln cultist Burrus M. Carhanan they are mere inconvenient facts in “a sobering yet sympathetic portrait of one of America’s most revered presidents . . .”   Naturally.  Who could conclude otherwise?
