Ron Paul Holds First Hearing On Federal Reserve

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

Ron Paul pulled together an impressive roster of economic experts to testify about the harmful effects the Federal Reserve has had on employment. Chief among the experts was Dr. Thomas DiLorenzo, who needs no introduction to readers of this blog.

But check out the reaction of Rep. Lacy Clay, a typical liberal loon:

At one point, when Paul opened up the hearing to questions from committee members, Rep. Lacy Clay (D-Mo.) directly took on DiLorenzo for his membership in the League of the South, an organization that has been designated by the Southern Poverty Law Center as a "neo-Confederate" hate group advocating for Southern secession.

Clay then rattled off a list of some of DiLorenzo’s articles, including "More Lies about the Civil War," "In Defense of Sedition," and "The First Dictator-President," which examines "how Lincoln’s myth has corrupted America."

"After reviewing your work and the so-called methods you employ, I still cannot understand you being invited to testify today on the unemployment crisis, but I do know that I have no questions for you," Clay concluded.

Clay had no questions because he had no idea what he was talking about. All he’s capable of is knee-jerk reactions to any ideas not vetted and approved by liberal gurus.

It was Clay who opposed the membership of U.S. Representative Steve Cohen, a white liberal who repesents a majority black congressional district, to the Congressional Black Caucus. Here’s how Clay dismissed Cohen, who is Jewish:

"Mr. Cohen asked for admission, and he got his answer. He’s white and the Caucus is black. It’s time to move on. We have racial policies to pursue and we are pursuing them, as Mr. Cohen has learned. It’s an unwritten rule. It’s understood."

Does that make Lacy Clay an anti-Semite as well as a liberal loon?

Whatever the answer to THAT mystery, here’s how Dr. DiLorenzo should have responded when Lacy Clay said he had no questions about fiscal policy:
