Confederate Flag Debate Sparked in Tennessee Cemetery

There’s a battle brewing at a Tennessee cemetery over the Confederate flag.

The Sons of Confederate Veterans planned on dedicating a Confederate flag at Green Hill Cemetery later this month, but a local historical society says "no way".

The society says they don’t have an issue with a few Confederate flags in the cemetery, but they don’t want one flying high atop the main flag pole.

"The Confederates lost their right to fly the Confederate flag 150 year ago; we do not want to see the Confederate flag flying over Green Hill Cemetery over Elizabethton, Tennessee. We want to put that flag up in honor and remembrance of Lt. Robert Tipton for his sacrifice and service to the Confederate States of America."

The Sons of Confederate Veterans say this flag represents their heritage something that shouldn’t be forgotten.
